Chad plays at the Guggenheim in NYC!

Before Chad came home for Christmas break, he landed a playing position at the Guggenheim Museum in New York.  He was selected to play with a small ensemble from Juilliard that performed the music for the reading of Peter and the Wolf.  It features a lot of bassoon in the pieces.  The coolest part was that the famous designer Isaac Mizrahi read the story.  Chad performed the entire series and enjoyed playing the part.

“Works & Process” at the Guggenheim Museum. The annual production of Sergei Prokofiev’s children’s classic Peter & The Wolf has become a local holiday tradition that brings together some of the brightest artistic talents to create an unforgettable production that weaves art, music and performance into one. The vaunted collaboration brought together NYC Opera’s musical director George Manahan to conduct the Juilliard Ensemble, while fashion designer Isaac Mizrahi narrated the tale.

Chad said it was surreal to be riding the elevator with Isaac Mizrahi and sitting 6' from Brooke Shields and her children!  Hopefully this was one of many performance for Chad in NYC!  He is taking a break from Juilliard this semester to focus on his audition pieces and will resume classes in the fall.
