And then there were FIVE

Today my best friend had her fifth child, Grace Olivia, 8#, 8 oz.  She is beautiful just like her momma.  I met Melanie the first day of college at SFA and we became the best of friends for the next four years.  We lived together our junior and senior years and the first year out of college.  She truly is the sister I never had.  We are total opposites in every since of the word.  She is messy and I like everything in its place, she doesn't do baby books and I go overboard and have a 6" thick baby book!   But somehow in our extreme differences we are the same.  We both love our families more than anything and gravitate around them.  We both have a strong faith that has seen us through every trial & tribulation in our lives.  She is my constant who I can always go to with any problem, heartache, or joy that I need to share.

Melanie loves babies & being a mom and has raised the most wonderful children.  Kaitlin & I went to visit Miss Grace tonight and she was more precious than words can say.  I'd be lying if I said I didn't have moments of yearning for another one while inhaling the sweet baby smells, but God gifted me with a child and I will be eternally grateful for my miracle and when I need a baby fix, I can always go visit sweet baby Grace.

There is nothing like a baby to remind you of God's wonderful creation - it was a good day & I am thankful for old friends, memories, and healthy babies.
