Berry Good Day

On Saturday we met my sweet co-workers Lauren, Paul and his wife Jennifer, and their sweet little boy, Jackson at the King's Orchard in Plantersville.   

Lauren wanted to go berry pickin' and I had always wanted to take Kaitlin.  Great fun, but SUPER hot - we went at 9am, but we were still parched. 

Did you know blueberries grew on large olive-treelike shrubs like this?

I didn't!

We got a bucket o' blueberries and some yummy peaches.

We made homemade peach ice cream for father's day and froze the berries that we didn't eat.  I never really even liked blueberries until I tasted fresh ones - WHAT a difference, these were so sweet and yummy! 



We will make this an annual tradition and next year I plan to go in March for Strawberries....wanna come?!
